What is Adobe Lightroom and what is it for
While Lightroom is designed for computers and can be used across multiple platforms, it’s also incredibly powerful when used as a standalone solution for editing photos. Regardless, it works with RAW photos. The new version is not backwards compatible with Classic, LR4, LR3, LR2 and LR1. The integration with Bridge makes this easy and seamless, and Adobe understands the need to offer a version which is able to keep up with a constantly evolving ecosystem.
In short, it does what you expect it to and more.
But, this also means it has been under the covers and the performance is a bit under the radar.
