Now we need to make sure that when we monitor w in the future, it will be monitored by fancontrol. We do this by adding it to the “I’m interested in” device. For example, if we’re monitoring the first HDD on the list, we simply add the line /dev/sda to the “I’m interested in” list. Now if we run sudo fancontrol -i w, we should see that our HDD has been automatically detected. We should also see that it is detected with a temperature of 41 degrees.

As I can’t find any information, I decide to write about FanControl v124 Full Crack on my machine: Asus N6950A-E5-133E. As of now it can’t run on newer distributions than Ubuntu 13.04. Basically, it does exactly what I want: it saves the settings of the fans from Fancontrol, shuts down the fans when the computer is shut down and opens them up again whenever the computer is started. It should be able to handle multiple fans.

First, download: getdeb:release_0.1ubuntu5_i386.deb . (Fancontrol is in the repository, but there are not packages for it, and they are not bug free. So, I wrote a command that checks my hardware for old versions of FanControl and lets me install the latest version with apt-get install.)

The Fancontrol status is saved on my laptop, so, I have the same settings when I reboot, but if you’re using a different computer, it can save your settings by itself. Once everything has worked, you can safely remove FanControl and your settings will still be there.

The minimum Requires and After values, which are set in the /lib/systemd/system/lm_sensors.service service file, have been removed. It will now only run if the /etc/fancontrol configuration file is changed from the default values.

A heavily updated version of the script was released, which allows you to control fan speed for AMD motherboards. The script can be compiled with ./configure --enable-amd to allow control of fan speed on systems that support the it87 module and ACPI power management. See the Compiling and Installing section on the puppy-fancontrol website for more info.

If you uncomment it, the script will find a file called reg with a .device extension, which is the right path to the hwmon (e.g. /sys/devices/platform/asus-nb-wmi/hwmon/hwmon[[:print:]]*/pwm1) you are interested in. There is a simple for loop that looks for a configuration file, usually in /etc/fancontrol. If one does not exist, we create it. A simple [opening]{} that creates the file.
[If you have fancontrol in your users /etc/profile, you are out of luck. If you have a location in /etc/profile.d, you can still use that location in /etc/fancontrol, but a profile updates are probably not going to be useful here.

If you are not using BIOS ACPI (also known as legacy ACPI) and only have an AMD-QAM driver, then you can also try this:
– change \_SB.PCI0.HPET0.XTAL_NOM[0]=1 to \_SB.PCI0.HPET0.XTAL_NOM[0]=2 (in /etc/rc.local, before exit 0)

By doing this, the script will not set \_SB.PCI0.HPET0.XTAL_NOM[0]=2 every time the system boots up. This allows having the script working on first boot, and not having to recompile the kernel. Otherwise, the file \_SB.PCI0.HPET0.XTAL_NOM would be removed when one updates to a new BIOS version, thus forcing the script to remove \_SB.PCI0.HPET0.XTAL_NOM[0]=2 and add it back. But it has to recompile the kernel. You can find this modification in progress at https://github.com/wildlogic/fancontrol/commit/8e47aee565fd .

So lm-sensors seems to work, and pwmconfig seems to spin down the right fans. Now, after pwmconfig has run through the tests, I say that pwm1 should be controlled by temp1, while pwm2 should be controlled by temp2, set interval, save and quit. Then I try starting fancontrol, it reads everything up until FCTEMPS, where I get an error. The FCTEMPS line has a + between the two fans controlled by pwm2, could this be the problem Does anyone have a similar setup (two fans controlled by one pwm2 and one temp2, and a third fan controlled by pwm1 and temp1) and an /etc/fancontrol which displays this setup Basically it seems to me pwmconfig is not writing the right /etc/fancontrol syntax for two fans on one pwm.

If youre not willing to spend hours setting things up in the fancontrol scripts interface, then dont bother! All the capability of fancontrol and fancontrol4fanctl, aside from pwmconfig, is available to you.
pwmconfig cannot see fan is on it’s own, not useful when more than 1 fan can be set to the same pwm.fancontrol4fanctl however allows one to control multiple fans on the same pwm. It has a syntax that seems to be a match for the lm-sensors FANCTRL line. The only downside is that it lacks a graphical interface.

Here is a summary of how to get this working:
1) /etc/conf.d/lm_sensors, ‘Check if sensors are supported.’ If they are, then your fans will show up in lm-sensors.
2) /etc/conf.d/lm_sensors, ‘Install fancontrol’ and make sure the directories and files are in /usr/sbin and have the right permissions. (
3) /etc/conf.d/lm_sensors/fancontrol, ‘List the fans’ (these 2 lines of /etc/conf.d/lm_sensors/fancontrol are critical). If you dont get any output, or the output is not what you want, then this is likely a bug. You must tell me what is wrong when you report it. Even if your fans dont show up at all in lm_sensors, the functionality in fancontrol should still work fine.
4) /etc/conf.d/lm_sensors/fancontrol, ‘Set interval for the fans.’ Every so often, and depending on the fan you are controlling, you will want to change the interval. The interval will be in seconds, so your idea of what is normal will help. My idea of what is normal here is probably 800 seconds for the CPU fan, and 200 seconds for the cardfan. If the fans really dont turn on after that time, pwmconfig will probably be of no use. Underneath there will be some lines saying what is the target speed for the fan. Check to see if that is normal and what you want for that fan. Also, remember that if you change the interval, then you wont be able to see the graphs until you change the interval back. In this case, unless you are setting it to like 0.5sec or so, you probably wont notice the bug for a while.
5) When you start fancontrol, it will ask if you want to set the fans to On-demand or Manual.
6) This time you will need to input the fan you want to control. For now, we will control the CPU fan. For this fan you will probably need to type “CPU” without the quotes. If you do this correctly, it will be fine.
7) This time, you will want to chose which pwm to use. In order to do this, you will need to find the PWM which controls the fan. You can do this several ways, but the first thing to do is to type pwmconfig FOO and see what is listed. It should be listed on the top right, the fan and the FOO you entered.
