Even though I had enabled two-way color support and selected my monitor as the profile source and the profile source + printer as profile target, Paint.NET still messed up the colors when saving the file (they appeared very dull as if they were converting in lower bit depth using “auto mode”). I tried both of your methods: the latter-via-profiles worked like a charm, but the former via batch mode didn’t work. I have Windows 7 on my PC. Any suggestions?

Hello. I have been using Paint.NET for quite some time and I’ve never run into the problem of saving Pixels in lower bit-depth (8). But I have only used monochrome (8bpp) files. What your post made me realise is that I can save the file as all kind of color modes, and some of them work. Now I’m saving a 12bit (12bpp) file and when I go to view the saved file in Paint.NET, the colours look awful and the pixels are a grey-ish off-white, despite my setting the profile to sRGB. The colours are correct on my monitor, though. It has been very annoying this time as I’ve been saving all of my files in a lossless compression, as the files before were much bigger.
